Mr. Fleming made the comment at a press briefing on Wednesday this week. He was responding to a question about a reported arrangement where, during this present term of office, the appointment of Chief Minister would be shared between him and Minister of Finance, Victor Banks.
“The Government of Anguilla is a sensitive Government to the feelings of the people,” the Chief Minister went on. “There is one thing that I am very good at because of my relationship [with people]. I listen to people when they talk and I am guided.

“Election was in 2005 and I hope the [next] election will be 2010. Mr. Banks and I have no problem. If there is to be any change, that is a matter Mr. Banks and I will have to discuss bearing in mind the desire of the people of Anguilla.
“But for now, the Government is perfectly intact and functioning well.”
Asked about his health following his kidney transplant operation, Mr. Fleming replied: “God has been good. God has been good, believe you me. I am blessed.”
