At the Palm Garden Art Studio in North Hill, the children participating in the Christmas Art Camp decided to do something good to help others. On their own initiative, they picked limes and pomserrates to sell so they could donate the money for a good cause. And on a bright sunny Friday morning with the wind dancing in the trees and smiles dancing on their faces they donated the money they had raised to The Arijah Children’s Foundation.

The Arijah Children’s Foundation of Anguilla was formed in 2006 as a non-profit foundation to help Anguilla’s special needs children. Its primary mission is to create a centre for these special children to receive the care and developmental assistance they so urgently need in order to give them a chance to develop their potential and to live the full and meaningful lives that they were born to live.

Since its formation, the Foundation has made steady progress towards finalizing its plans of establishing a centre to provide educational and childcare support to special needs and well children in Anguilla. It plans to commence operating this centre in 2008, and continues to work towards striving to materialize this goal.

However, in order to make one significant step towards achieving this aim, the Foundation is in urgent need of support from kind sponsors to assist with establishing the premises to house this centre, which will become the home for caring for the very special children of Anguilla. The Foundation would be grateful to receive assistance with regard to securing the premises from which the centre shall operate, or any other assistance for its construction.

The Arijah Children’s Foundation would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to these young Anguillian children for their kind, selfless, and charitable act and to praise and encourage them for considering what they could do to help others. With the support of the children and the Anguillian community the Foundation will succeed in helping Anguilla’s special children.

Special thanks also goes out to all those who have supported the Foundation in its first year and wishes for a blessed and merry Christmas and a bright and prosperous new year.
