There are two distinct groups of paintings in the show: one section in watercolour and the other oil on linen, both representing the power of being grounded and giving the strength of rising high. The first group is focused on women and girls in the marketplace. The vertical link is depicted in the elegant stature of the females symbolizing their graceful presence in the Caribbean. The medium of these paintings is watercolor and one that Lynne has mastered, as she respects the most effective tradition of using the white of the paper support for the white of the painting.

The second group of ten paintings is ‘Oasis’ and is inspired by a significant palm grove seen at Meads Bay. The refuge of each grove of palm trunks is so well grounded that they are free to rise upward along with the force of the group, and the stature and strength of the trees is portrayed as they come to life with the appropriate shadows. Oil on linen is the medium with a simple, yet striking composition executed with much detail and texture giving the paintings their richness.

Lynne Bernbaum, is originally from Dallas, Texas. She graduated from the University of Arizona in 1978. She worked for some time with Architectural Illustration that contributed to additional design and graphic skills. The fine art of painting was developed more when she relocated to the Caribbean where her talents and skills as an artist are much admired.

She has participated in more than a dozen important exhibitions and currently exhibits in Anguilla as well as galleries in Madrid, Los Angeles, Dallas and Brittany, France.
