Victoria Charles Now 103 Years

Anguilla’s oldest citizen, Victoria Charles, formerly of Blowing Point, is 103 years.
A service in her honour was held on Sunday, December 2, at St. Gerard’s Roman Catholic Church where many tourists and members of the resident congregation were in attendance.

She was accompanied by a number of close relatives and friends.
The service was conducted by the resident Pastor, Fr. Digno Jore, who had with him two visiting Priests.
Victoria Charles is a resident at the privately-run Tender Loving Care Home in The Valley, where the proprietor is Brenda Hodge.

There was also another birthday celebrant at St. Gerard’s in the person of Pearline Matthew, who is originally from Basseterre, St. Kitts but lives in Canada. She is the grandmother of Sandra York-Gumbs, a well-known senior public servant at the Department of Infrastructure.
It was Mrs. Matthew’s 90th birthday.
