Mr. Lester Forman, Vice-President of Sales and Mobile for C&W, mentioned that the Business After Hours concept was a perfect way to network with the ACOCI members in a relaxed and social atmosphere. It also provided an opportunity for C&W to showcase its products and services. The entire sales team was present to interact with customers and answer questions about their services. There were also various presentations made about the Blackberry, Calling Circle, Bluetooth technology and Broadband. Mr. S. Hodge said, “Business After Hours is a great initiative for which Calvin Bartlett must be complimented, as well as Lester Forman. Cable & Wireless is grateful for the opportunity to be the first business establishment in Anguilla to be part of this initiative; one that will hopefully become commonplace, as it was a great success in its first attempt.”

There were many specials available, including a 50% discount on Blackberry handsets and 20% discount on all other mobile phones. Refreshments and prizes were also offered, with the main prize, a brand new BlackBerry Pearl being won by Ms Vida Lloyd Richardson of Lloyd’s Guest House. The Energetic Super Fly String Band provided superb entertainment for the crowd late into the evening, finishing up only after the last guest had left.

Mr. Bartlett plans to hold more such functions in the future and will continue to strive towards enhancing the ACOCI’s services. The next major event of the Anguilla Chamber of Commerce is the Annual Christmas Shopping Fair which is scheduled for December 8th from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. The concept of the event is slightly different than last year and will include a Christmas Gift Show and an “Open House” presentation of what the Anguilla Chamber of Commerce has to offer. Further more there is a spectacular music performance planned from 3-5 pm by the Soul Rival Band and later on a Christmas Party, Christmas Carol singing, Fashion show. It will all be topped off with lots of guavaberry and String Band Music to bring the Christmas feeling early in December. “This is indeed a unique opportunity for members of the Chamber to sell, exhibit or promote their products and services to a captive audience,” said Mr. Bartlett.
