The objectives of the competition were to: -
1. Improve the image of food and nutrition in the region.

2. Promote nutrition and healthy lifestyles among students and the community.

3. Help students in their preparation for local and regional examination s in Food and Nutrition.

The competition, which targets national teams representing each participating country, is held over several rounds, using audio conference distance facilities at the University Centres and, in recent years, a face off between the two final terms.

This year four Anguillian students participated in the regional quiz. They were Ashanda Connor, Ana Bryan, Gerard Mac Donald and Dianeglo Fleming. They performed at a very high standard and progressed to round two of the competition after winning the tie-breaker with Bahamas, and were keen contenders for round three. They are the first students, since 1998 when Anguilla placed second, to progress to round two.
