Monies donated by the mobile provider will be used for sending at least 3 local nurses to the Third Biannual Student Conference, of the Caribbean Nurses Organization, being held in St Croix USVI, from October 21 to 26.
The Conference’s theme is: “50 years of Excellence in Nursing Practice: Our History, Our Heritage, Our Future”.
Among the activities slated for the Conference are several education sessions to aid nurses development, a workshop on leadership development, skills building and visionary thinking as a means of looking forward to the future.
According to Digicel’s Country Manager, Ms Stephenie Brooks, “ Digicel is extremely pleased to have been afforded the opportunity to support this cause. The better educated and equipped our health personnel are, the more efficient our health care system will be.”
Ms Brooks also emphasized the importance of such conferences saying, “These activities do lend to collective and wide-range thinking, which helps us all in the Caribbean to become more united and focused on the goals and challenges ahead; and brainstorming ways to accomplish our successes and coming up with solutions on how to deal with the challenges we face in our ever changing world.”
Digicel, the fastest growing telecommunications provider in the Caribbean, is well known throughout the region for showing support for, and involving itself in, communities in which it operates.
