|
Pastor Gareth Hodge of the newly-formed Destiny Church Anguilla was awarded a Certificate in Pastoral Studies (Leadership) during the 19th Annual Church Development Conference held October 1st to 6th, 2007 in Dallas, Texas, USA. In 2006, Pastor Roderick Webster (Good News Baptist Church, St. Maarten), Pastor Steven Hughes (Good News Baptist Church, St. Martin), Pastor Dexter Welcome (New Testament Church of God) and Mr. Stanford Harrigan (Sovereign Grace Baptist Church) accompanied Pastor Hodge to the Conference. Pastor Webster, Pastor Hughes and Mr. Harrigan returned with Pastor Hodge to this year’s Conference, and Pastor Gerard Gumbs of God’s Storehouse Ministries and Mr. Timothy Hodge of Destiny Church Anguilla were first-time attendees. These church leaders have all committed to pursuing certification which is designed to assist leaders in being as effective as possible in ministry, church leadership and community development.
The Certification Programme, established in 1995 and accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (A.C.S.I.), awards the Certificate after 46 credit hours over a three-year period. It consists of a core of two mandatory tracks: the Church and the Community; as well as a certificate track in one of ten areas. Multiple certification is available in subsequent years as other tracks are completed.
