Covecastles Resort Annual Awards Luncheon

Covecastles Resort, the upscale tourism facility situated on the pristine Shoal Bay (West) Beach, held its annual awards luncheon at its dining room on Friday 17th August. Among those in attendance were Myron and June Goldfinger, members of the Board of Directors of Covecastles Limited.

Twenty Year Veterans with Sylvene Petty and Myron & June Goldfinger

The event was chaired by out-going General Manager, Mrs Sylvene Petty, who was ably assisted by the new General Manager, Miss Andrea Richardson.
The awards for longstanding service were in two categories: Ten Year Veterans and Twenty Year Veterans. The Ten Year Veterans, who each received a gold chain with gold-star pendant, were Judy Lake (Cook), James Sasso (Landscaping) and Emelda Williams (Laundry).

The Twenty Year Veterans received plaques and monetary gifts. They were Harriet Carty (Head Housekeeping Assistant), Alma Richardson (Housekeeping), Eural Thomas (Landscaping), Winifred Gumbs (Housekeeping), Mabel Thompson (Housekeeping), Tracy Richardson (Housekeeping) and Doreen Powell (Housekeeping).
Following the presentation of the awards (by Mrs Goldfinger), Mrs Petty, the out-going General Manager, wished the staff well. She admonished them to continue working for the betterment of the Resort of which they were family members, and to give the new

General Manager, Andrea Richardson, the same unstinting support they had given her. Mrs Petty extended to Miss Richardson every good wish in her new job and was confident that she would do a good job which she was well equipped to handle. Miss Richardson, in turn, wished Mrs Petty a comfortable retirement and presented her with a beautiful bouquet.
