Dear Sir
I would be grateful if you would kindly print the following:
Since September 2006, I have been experiencing difficulties with the television service provided by Caribbean Cable Communications. The problems include:
(1) Blurred vision on several channels;
(2) Radio Cool F M interruption on channel 15;
(3) Weekend malfunctioning of many channels; and
(4) Various channels having the same scrambled effect as channels 23 to 28.
I had to constantly call the staff on a daily basis before the maintenance crew were sent to address the problems. Within one month of the repairs, some of the problems returned, especially the blurred vision on channel 63.
What has compounded the problem is that several channels that had interesting programmes have been changed for others with less entertaining or interesting material, thus reducing the number of channels with satisfactory viewing.
The process of making complaints was again resumed. Various excuses such as, “A damaged Satelite Dish-- the Digital System” and others were given but no corrective action was taken to solve the problems. As a result, I decided to bypass the junior staff and seek assistance from management. On the 1st February 2007, I wrote the Operations Manager to see if that would achieve better results. To date, I have not received a response to even acknowledge receipt of my correspondence which I personally delivered to ensure that it was received. Hence, the continued existence of the problems.
They were very quick to announce that “an increase in TV Fees “ is long overdue. However, an improvement in service is comfortably placed in the freezer, simply because there is no alternative recourse for us.
It is pathetic to think that some businesses only consider their customers to be important when there is competition. But as long as there is “no other branch to hold on to” you are viewed as garbage at Corito. It is time that we receive more appreciation for our hard earned money.
Yours sincerely,
Colonel Harrigan
