Principal of the primary school, Alison Hughes, told listeners that many of the graduating students had been at the school for at least seven years. “We have had our joys and have met many challenges but we have conquered all and are now sending them to the Comprehensive School. We expect to hear good things about them and wish them every success. We expect them to continue to aim for excellence; and we hope that the zeal which the parents showed towards their graduation will continue throughout their tenure at the Comprehensive School.”
The feature address was delivered by Pastor Phillip Gumbs who challenged the students to be good role models and achievers. At the same time he called on parents to take control of their homes. “You need to know who your children are talking to and who their friends are. Let the job become secondary and look after your children,” he went on, referring to a situation where both parents go to work leaving their children at home.”
He told the students: “Set lofty goals for yourself. Have some good solid values. Make your parents and your nation proud.”

The Graduation Class of 2007

The Valedictorian Speech was delivered by Schanice Busby who was delighted that she was entering a new stage of learning at Campus B. She was grateful to her teachers and parents who had been of much assistance to her during her years at the Valley Primary School and pledged to strive to be a successful student at the Comprehensive School.
During the graduation ceremony, Asharn Hodge, one of the students, was presented with a Corporate Award Certificate which included a book gift from the Public Relations Department of the Police Force. In making the presentation, Constable Randy Javois said the award was for the student who had contributed to peace in the classroom; willingly assisted others; was well-disciplined, mindful of the school’s environment and displayed a great level of leadership.
