bMobile Hits The BVI Sells 1,000 Pre-paid Handsets In 2 hours; Thanks The Public |
Cable & Wireless, one of the world’s leading telecommunications company, a week ago (Friday 8 June 07) in a press release proudly announces major successes in the BVI mobile market with the introduction of their bMobile service. The success comes on the heels of having received a unitary license just 12 days earlier, and in advance of the official launch of bmobile which takes place today 15 June 2007.
bMobile’s customer growth has averaged 799 new customers per day, for a total of 4, 196 new subscribers during the first 6 days of June. The people of the BVI have said loud and clear they want choice and affordable prices and Cable & Wireless is pleased to have been able to deliver on our brand promises and to meet customer’s expectations.
“During our first ever special pre-paid handset promotion, the public showed its enthusiasm and support for bMobile in such a way that we sold 1,000 pre-paid handsets in less than two hours” said Mr. Vance Lewis, Chief Executive Cable & Wireless in the BVI.
By 10:30 AM on the morning of the special promotion, originally scheduled between the hours of 12PM to 6PM, 1st June on Wickham’s Cay, an early crowd of eager shoppers, estimated to be more than 200, had begun gathering to take advantage of the special offers.
The promotional pre-paid phone in a box offered packages that retailed for as low as US$40 and valued at US$110 that also included a free US$20 SIM card plus a US$50 credit.
Commenting on the success of bMobile, Mr. Lewis said “I wish to sincerely thank the public for their patience and belief in bMobile’s ability to deliver on their expectations and we promise to bring even greater savings and benefits than those they have thus far witnessed.”
I personally extend an invitation to the all of the citizens of the BVI to join us in our Free Grand Celebration event on Friday, 15th June, at 4:00 PM on the Festival Grounds in the Road Town.
We will offer two of the hottest Caribbean entertainers: Shurwyn Winchester and Baby Sham. Also on hand to entertain our public, are the BVI’s most popular performers: Quito Rhymer, Lashing Dogs, Jamsey P and Xtreme Band.
Again the entertainment for the Grand Celebration Event is Free to the public, with compliments from Cable & Wireless.
