Hilton Fleming Obeys The Angels

Prominent figure in the Island Harbour community, Hilton Fleming, said he was obeying a command from God through two Angels who prompted him to get baptised on Saturday, June 16.

Mr. Fleming, in the company of many people who converged on the Forest Bay, was the first of the converts to change in his baptismal robe and to stand at the shoreline for baptism as the water caressed his feet.

“I am here because of the voice of God,” he told those around him. “I want to be the first to be baptised. God sent two Angels to me in a dream and told me I must get baptised and here I am today. The world is coming to an end and I am getting old. I must prepare myself with God’s help.”

He turned around and glimpsed at members of his immediate and supportive family – his wife and children who were already Adventists: “It is time that we are all at one place, serving God and living our lives together,” he remarked.

Mr. Fleming said it was not just a matter of becoming a Seventh-day Adventist. The fact was that he wanted a change of life.

One thing he may keep on doing is playing dominoes especially when his longstanding partner and friend, Teacher George, supports him in his new life.
