Pre John T Memorial Warm-up Race


The Pre-ohn “T” Memorial Race (Warm-up) took place on Sunday June 10th, 2007, with a large group of spectators. Some 17 cyclists from Anguilla and one from St. Maarten took part in this annual cycle race.

The United Sports Social Club sponsored the race with the assistance of the Anguilla Amateur Cycling Association.

The course was a grueling 116.6 km that took the first cyclist 3 hours and 26 minutes to complete. Six positions were awarded. Special incentive prizes of “King Of The Hill” was awarded to the first cyclist to reach to the top of Sandy Ground Hill on the first lap and a cash prize was given to the youngest cyclist finishing the race.

The winning positions were as follows:
1st Chris Pradel (V8 Cycling Club, St. Maarten)
2nd Sherwin Osbourne (Link Cycling Club, Anguilla)
3rd Joel Nankman (St. Martin/St. Maarten Cycling Club)
4th Marlon Morrison (Independent Cyclist, Anguilla)
5th Ronnie Bryan (Dragon Boys Cycling Club, Anguilla)
6th Timothy Richardson (Link Cycling Club, Anguilla)

Vinish Narine (Link Cycling Club) took the “King Of The Hill” prize while Justin Hodge (Stingers Cycling Club) took the “Youngest Cyclist” prize.

The organisers extended special thanks to the AACA, the Royal Anguilla Police Service and the spectators for their kind support.

The Eigth Annual John T. Memorial Cycle Race will take place on sunday 1st July 2007.
