One of the matters considered was a petition signed by more than 2,000 persons expressing concern over the crime situation and calling on Government to take immediate steps to seriously address the situation. They also called for the strengthening of the Royal Anguilla Police Force to deal with the problem more effectively.

The signing of the petition was initiated by Althea Turner and other concerned persons. Mrs. Turner was a victim of a recent robbery and assault attack. The signatures will eventually be handed over to the Government for action.
