POLICE CAPTURE PROWLER

A man prowling the Little Harbour residential area in the early but dark hours of Thursday morning, May 17, was intercepted by one of a number of Anguilla Police patrols. He abandoned his car and ran away. The Police, who began their patrols about 2.30 a.m., chased him as he made his way through the bush towards Blowing Point.

The Dutch St. Maarten Police helicopter, with its night vision equipment, was summoned to assist in finding him but before its arrival the man was captured at his residence in Blowing Point by the Anguilla Police. He is in police custody as they continue to investigate a series of burglaries and violent/sexual attacks in various parts of Anguilla between 4.30 a.m. and 5.00 a.m. Up to late Thursday evening he was not however charged with any of the offences, but DNA material has been sent for analysis at the forensic laboratory in Jamaica.

He is said to have dual Anguillian and Dutch nationality and is in his early twenties. He was taken into custody before 7 a.m. Thursday.
