CCC Donates US$1,500 To Anguilla Regatta

Caribbean Cable Communications (CCC) has donated US$1,500 towards the Anguilla Regatta which will take place from Friday May 11 to Sunday May 13.

In making the donation, Director of Operations, Barbara Owen, said boat-racing in Anguilla was one of the island’s leading sporting activities for many years and that CCC was proud to be a sponsor of the regatta.
She noted that the majority of the proceeds from the regatta would go towards funding the Anguilla Sailing Club which permits young children to learn the skills of sailing.
“Any investment in our children is an investment in our future and helps to motivate them to participate in positive character-building activities,” Mrs. Owen stated. “Skills learned through this process such as leadership and team work will help to mould them into the adults of tomorrow.”
She congratulated the efforts of the Regatta Committee in educating the island’s children though the Anguilla Sailing Club and enticing visitors to Anguilla to participate in the spectacular event.
The presentation of the cheque was made to Peter Parles of the Anguilla Sailing Association. He said he was very happy to have the support of CCC once again. He noted that without the sponsorship from companies it would not have been possible to establish the Anguilla Youth Sailing Club.
