Action heated up last week in the CCB sponsored female football league. On Wednesday Shining Stars defeated Super Stars by a score of 2 goals to 1. Glenicia Richardson and Morihinzi both scored for Shining Stars while Melissa Carty scored the lone goal for Super Stars. Khadeema Gumbs was adjudged player of the game for her superb defensive work. The second round kicked off on Friday 20th April with the league leaders and defending champion Shining Stars going under to Lil Soldiers by the score of 3 goals to 0. Keturah Caines, Geralisa Bardouille and Melesa Anderson were on target for Lil Soldiers with Ambhar Romney winning the M.V.P. of the game.
On Sunday 22nd April in the first encounter Gazelles and Lil Soldiers played to an exciting Nil all draw with Davia Hodge gaining the M.V.P. for her outstanding performance in the goal. In the second match, Shining Stars bounced back from their last game loss to beat Super Stars by a score of 4 goals to Nil. Glenicia Clardeena & Jaynelle scored for Shining Stars, with the other being an own goal by Melissa. The win sent Shining Stars back to the top of the standing with a one point lead over Lil Soldiers. The player of the game was captain Jaynelle Lake.
Action continues this week on Wednesday 24th April at 4:00pm De Youngsters battle Gazelles and on Friday 26th April at 4:00pm, Super Stars come up against Lil Soldiers. On Sunday 28th April at 3:00pm, in the first match Shining Stars will play De Youngsters while in the second game Super Stars play Gazelles.
