Jeff Webster Dies While Spear-Fishing


Jeff Webster, a young man of Island Harbour, unfortunately met his death on Saturday, March 31, while spear-fishing in the area of Long Reef, above Prickly Pear Cay.

It is understood that he was one of five young men who went diving on a fishing spree in the waters off Road Bay,

His body was found floating by one of his companions. He was taken ashore and shortly afterwards transported by ambulance to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Jeff, 36, was the son of Russell Webster, a well-known figure on the island. According to a family member, he died doing what liked best – diving and fishing. His death has caused much grief among his relatives and friends. He was described as having been a good diver and swimmer.

A pathologist is expected in Anguilla in the near future to determine the cause of death.
