Chief Executive of Cable and Wireless, Sutcliffe Hodge, said that his company had sponsored the Inter House Athletic Sports for the past eight years and are committed to continue doing so. He said that they were pleased to impact the lives of young people and urged them to focus their energies on friendly rivalry and team spirit. He suggested that although cheerleaders had their roles to play he did not believe the young ladies at the school needed to display themselves in that way. In fact he urged both boys and girls to dress appropriately, saying that young people can give the wrong impression with the way they dressed and asked them to conduct themselves in a decent and presentable manner. He concluded by inviting the students to be good sports and have fun on sports day.

Principal of the school, Ingrid Lake, expressed thanks to Cable and Wireless and to Nagico/Fairplay Agencies for their sponsorship of the school sports and their interest in the school in general. She told the students that they must show their appreciation by competing.
