'A Church Within CCB': Concert Overwhelming Success

Members of the 52-strong staff at the Caribbean Commercial Bank performed in such a striking manner in their Gospel Extravaganza Concert on Thursday, March 8, that it sent the large crowd in attendance rocking and clapping in their seats or to their feet in prolonged applause.

The delightful event was held in the open air auditorium at Campus B which afforded good and comfortable seating for the appreciative audience and an unobstructed view of all the performers on the stage.

The concert was one of many activities planned by CCB for the celebration of its 30th Anniversary. One person, greatly impressed by the performance of the bank’s Mass Choir and individual singers, commented: “Unlike other financial institutions in Anguilla, CCB has a Church within it.”

He was right on target. Apart from being employees of CCB, the choristers are very talented and energetic singers and praise/worship leaders in the Church of God (Holiness) on the Queen Elizabeth Avenue and the Christian Assembly Church on the Blowing Point Road.

The song, One Family, originally produced by the Johnson Sisters, has been adopted by CCB as the theme song for its anniversary activities and has impressed many persons including Governor and Mrs. Andrew George, who were among the large number of spectators at the Gospel Concert.

The chairperson was Myrna Sasso, Assistant Manager Credit Card, who was delighted by the performance of her fellow CCB employees.
