The presentation was made on Tuesday by Alex Ballin, Manager of the two and three bedroom villas – Coconut Palm and Beach Palm. She said the owners, Lynn and James Mead, of Connecticut, wanted to know what some of the island’s service needs were and that in trying to find out, they discovered that the wheel chair at the port was in bad condition. Accordingly they undertook to provide a new one.
Miss Ballin said it was her pleasure to present the wheel chair on behalf of the American couple for use by Anguillians and other persons needing the service.
The gift was accepted on behalf of the Anguilla Government and the ferry terminal by Port Manager, Dale Rogers. “It will very well serve us at the port to provide assistance to residents and visitors who may need wheel chair services from time to time,” he said.
