First Place

If I Were

If I were a batsman I’d
Hit super sixes and flashy fours
In a very energetic way.
And if the bowler doesn’t like it,
I would tell him, “Boo!”
Because if he was in my place,
He would do it too!

If I were a spin bowler
I’d knock the wickets out
From early in the over,
Those stumps will fly about.
I would tell him, “Toodle do!”
Because if he was me,
He would do it too!

If I were a wicket keeper
I’d scoop that fast flying ball
In a very magical way.
And if the batsman doesn’t like it,
I would tell them “moo!”
Because if he was me,
He would do it too!

If I were a slip fielder
I’d grab that sneaky ball
Hot off the bat
And never let it fall
And if the other team doesn’t like it,
I would tell them, “Go to the zoo!”
Because if they were me,
They would do it too!
