Recovered Accident Victim: Says Thanks For Care And Support

At a 25th Anniversary press conference held by NAGICO (National General Insurance Corporation) at Fair Play Management Services in Anguilla on Tuesday this week, insured customer, Stanley Mussington, gave a wide-ranging ‘thank you’ for all the assistance, care and support he had received following a devastating accident last year.

Mr. Mussington was invited to share his experience and to tell of the benefits he had received from the insurance company which was set up in St. Maarten 25 years ago and in Anguilla for 24 years now. Mussington, a retired Health Administrator and currently a principal at Apex Auto Supplies, first gave thanks to Almighty God stating that “with all the advances in medical technology God is still supreme.”

He was grateful to the doctors, nurses and other staff in Anguilla and St. Maarten for their assistance following his accident. “It would be remiss of me if I fail to say a special thanks to Mr. Quincy Gumbs and his staff at Fair Play Management Services for the prompt and appropriate manner in which they handled my case,” he stated. “In healthcare one must be able to distinguish between an elective and an emergency. This is critical. Time and proper management are extremely important.”

Mr. Mussington made the point that his NAGICO Gold Insurance Coverage made the difference. “In less than one hour after Mr. Gumbs was informed of my case, Air Ambulalce and admission to the Trauma Centre at Jackson Memorial Hospital were arranged. My NAGICO Gold Insurance Coverage not only gave me access to top surgical attention, but also intense therapy (both in Miami and here at our own Polyclinic at Welches,” he reported.

Among the other persons Mussington thanked were Dr. Kester Nedd, Associate Professor of Neurology at Jackson Memorial and his wife (daughter Anguillians Mr. & Mrs. Joe Hodge) of Apex Construction; his own daughter, Dr. Cullen Mussington, who was told by Dr. Nedd to “bring him as quickly as possible” after she described his condition; Dr. Green, other doctors, nurses, therapists and staff of the 4th Floor at Jackson Memorial and Dr. Lowell Hughes of Anguilla. In a voice filled with controlled emotion, he stated: “Thanks for the prayers and support of my wife Loma, daughters Cullen and Shana, family, friends and churches here and abroad.”

The now well-recovered and jovial Mr. Mussington added: “Had it not been for the insurance coverage of NAGICO Gold and the prompt and appropriate action of Mr. Quincy Gumbs and his staff, my quality of life could have been worse. I say ‘could have’. You can never second guess God’s grace. In closing let me say health insurance is vital; also please – if you are driving, wear your seat belt. Finally, happy Anniversary to Fair Play Management Services.”
