|
This past Saturday saw the first in this years series of Professional Miniature Golf Tournaments taking place at PAR (PLAY-A-ROUND) the only 18 hole, professional miniature Golf course in Anguilla. Did you even know that there is such a thing as “Professional Miniature Golf?” Yes ....Professional miniature golf is a very popular sport in many countries and is even a provisional Olympic sport!

Now here in Anguilla! Our course qualifies! This current series of tournaments is open to all persons 18 years or older, who are interested in learning and playing this exciting sport. Patience is required! And how do you get good?... tournament play!!!!!!!!! You too might have what it takes. The tournament allows new or seasoned “putters” the chance to practice, then to test their ability under competitive pressure. This improves your game. No special shoes or expensive equipment required and clubs and all standard, rubber headed mallets provided at PAR course. And the end goal? Not only self growth but also cash prizes!
Tournaments are held each Saturday starting at 7 pm. Registration is $20 and includes free practice prior to start. Gates at PAR open at 5 pm. The chance to win cash and prizes is for finishing in the top four of your division. Every Saturday, you can join the tournament game, just watch, or “play a round” casual. A golf round is $7 and is played with your foursome or meet new friends at the club house. The park also provides more activities for young adults to enjoy. Bumper Boats are the favorite, the new adventurous “CABLE ZIP LINE”ride (a fly through the air, harnessed into a cable up in the air excites children 8 and 18). And then the giant, inflatable “Obstacle Course” that children can race through. We try to tire them out ...but no guarantee!!!! All events tickets are $7. (Call for info on special $5 days this month).
Last Saturday’s play saw the final round for prize money being played by Juliet Kelnhofe, Brent Warner and Dexter James. The front nine was played well by all the players with scoring as follows: Brent 19, Dexter 20 and Juliet 24.
The back nine holes were extremely well played by Brent and Dexter. Juliet who had played superbly in the first round, with two holes in one, fell behind in the back nine of this final round. Brent pulled ahead.
Congratulations to all the winners
First Place: Brent Warner = cash prize
Second Place: Dexter James = cash prize
Third Place: Juliet Kelnhofer = cash prize
Fourth Place: Lester Samuel =PAR hat
