Airport Replacement Houses: LAST TWO UNDER CONSTRUCTION BY GOVERNMENT
|
Over the past two years, the Anguilla Government constructed a number of houses for various persons occasioned by their displacement from the precincts of Wallblake Airport to facilitate its extension. The last two are now under construction. There has been a change in Government’s policy whereby money is being provided for other persons in compensation for their land and to build their own houses. There have also been cases of exchange of land for housing.

Building Supervisor at the Department of Infrastructure, Vernol Richardson, has been speaking with The Anguillian on the matter. He said that one of the last two houses, a two-bedroom apartment, was being built for Marjorie Germaine in the Rock Farm area by contractor Clement Gumbs. The other house (two floors), under construction at the Forest, is for Carmen Lake-Richardson and her daughter Nicole. The contractor is Edward Webster.
