APANY, as the some 400-member organisation is called, recently purchased and shipped the tools to Anguilla in a joint donation with the National Bank of Anguilla. The tools were presented to the school on Monday this week by former APANY President, Seymour Hodge.

He noted that the association had a long history of providing assistance for the educational, social, economic and cultural needs of the people of Anguilla. He expressed the hope that the tools would help to improve the skills of the students.

Principal of the School, Ingrid Lake, commended APANY’s members for their love for country and their readiness to help meet the needs of the island in many ways.

Ms Gumbs, NBA’s Marketing and Business Development Officer, said the Bank took much pride in contributing to the education of young people and would continue its support for them.

Head of the Technical Department, Janis McKeay, joined in expressing gratitude for the equipment, while outlining some of the present and future plans for the technical development of the students.

The tools included power drills, jigsaws, a router and table, safety goggles and various other pieces of equipment for practical lessons in such areas as metal and wood work, automotive and electrical work.
