ALHCS Students Awarded For Health Quiz |
Certificates and trophies were presented to a number of fourth form students at the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School for successfully representing the various houses in a quiz competition organised by the Nutrition and Health Promotion in collaboration with the Guidance and Counselling Teacher, Anita Ruan.
The presentation was made at Campus A on Wednesday this week. Head of the Unit, Vernice Battick, said the aims of the competition were to improve the knowledge of school children and the community about various health matters; to create an awareness of the importance of adopting healthy lifestyles and to increase the knowledge of students and the public about the role of the Health Authority.
The winning students were Amanda Romney, Chrystal Duncan, Shantel Carbon and Tamara Jermaine of Pink House; Marva Richardson, Quinson Gumbs, Tenesha Richardson and Krystal Webster of Yellow House; Glynnesia Franklyn, Karima Connor, Kamila Connor and Brittany Christopher of Purple House; Wandaila Gumbs, Calyn Harrigan, Jerriece Fleming and Christine Webster of Orange House; and Daniella Ezekiel of Maroon House.
Pink House took first place in the competition, followed by Orange House in second place; and Yellow House, third place.
The overall individual champion was Marva Richardson, having answered all the questions correctly.
