Diabetes Association Making Impact |
The Anguilla Diabetes Association appears to be making a good impact on the lives of a number of people who are becoming more aware of the growing problems of diabetes among the citizenry.
The past week was a very successful one for the association which organised a series of activities under the theme, “Diabetes Care for Everyone” as part of the observance of World Diabetes Day on November 14.
Among the activities which highlighted the occasion were a candlelight walk at the Ronald Webster Park and the customary walk at Shoal Bay. The activity which reached out to the wider community was the association’s Health Fair held at the Arts and Crafts Centre on November 17.
A number of care-givers were present to provide testing of blood sugar and blood pressure and to offer massages. The fair attracted many persons who participated in the testing and massage activities.
Display tables provided information on such matters as diabetes, blood pressure control, foot care and dieting.
