Cable & Wireless Tells Of Special Christmas Giveaways, Offers

Cable and Wireless has officially launched its Christmas promotion with a quantity of colourful brochures and posters offering handsome cash prizes, great deals on mobile phones, free calls, rentals, weekend rates and other special offers.

“We want you to start thinking and shopping early, seeing what is in store and what can benefit you and customers from coming to Cable & Wireless and taking advantage of the whole host of offers we have,” Avon Carty, Corporate Communications Director told a press briefing on Monday, November 20.

Speaking in the absence of Chief Executive, Sutcliffe Hodge, Larry Stott, Vice President of Network Services, said the company was taking advantage of the Christmas season to let its customers know that they were appreciated. “In the spirit of giving, we have a variety of promotions and give-aways we have lined up for customers to take advantage of and to give gifts to their family and friends, and do so early as the offers start this week,” he stated.
Marketing Manager, Giesel Francis, said the Christmas promotions were in three different segments. The first, in keeping with the company’s 35th anniversary in Anguilla, includes a give-away of EC$35,000 in cash to one lucky customer. That draw will take place on December 31. To be in, customers will have to do any of the following: sign up for any new service, buy any phone or modem or, in the case of existing customers, pay off their bills.

In part two of the promotion, every week, starting on Saturday this week, until December 23, there will be an initial draw in which one lucky customer will receive EC$1,000 worth of products and services at Cable & Wireless.

Part three is for Internet and ADSL customers. At the end of December one lucky customer will win a new Del Computer.

In addition to these big draws, Cable & Wireless is also offering a number of other great deals. Customers will be able to get greats and special prizes on various handsets such as the Samsung D600; SonyEriccson J100 and W810, Nokia 6103 and 1600; Motorola Razr V3i and PEBL and Blackberry 7130 and 8700.

“We are also going to be giving free credit and free text on any new handset activation,” Miss Francis stated. “Our customers will also enjoy bonus credits on top ups of credit of $25 from December 22 and 23. We are also offering lower weekend international rates
from December 23 until January 1, 2007. Additionally, customers will benefit from a number of free items – a free modem, free installation, a free basic phone plus a first month rental free for ADSL and NetSpeak installation.”

She said customers were being encouraged to upgrade their internet service if their bandwidth is not as strong or as good as they wished and to take advantage of the cheaper deals being offered by Cable & Wireless.

“We are also looking forward to continue our promotion with Motorola where customers who purchase one of the phones, in particular the L6, will be receiving free back packs, free neck straps…We are also working with Tempo and Caribbean Artistes whereby customers will receive a free CD on every purchase of a new cellular phone or handset,” Francis said.

She explained that every customer signing up for a new service would receive a Cable & Wireless prize draw entry form, to fill in the required information, and present it to one of the company’s agents or cashiers. If they purchased a new handset, paid off their bills or walked in and topped up their phones with a minimum of 25 dollars they would qualify to receive an entry form for the exciting draws. Other promotions will be launched later.

Further information was provided by Sharmaine Sasso, Head of Data and Internet and also Project Manager for this year’s Christmas promotion. She said among other matters that all customers signing up for internet would receive a free modem, free installation and one month rental free. Those upgrading their internet service would receive three months off the regular price and half price for any modem that they purchase.

In the case of Netspeak, customers would get free installation, the first month rental free and a free basic handset among other offers.

The theme of the Cable & Wireless promotion is “360 bmobile Christmas” meaning that the company can provide the full circle of the customers’ needs.
