Two Anguillian young men are holding acting appointments at the Governor’s Office.

Acting Governor Mr. Reid
Acting Governor Mr. Reid
One is the Hon. Stanley Reid, who earlier this year was appointed Deputy Governor, the first Anguillian to fill that post. Mr. Reid, a former Permanent Secretary in the Department of Public Administration, is now Acting Governor.

Acting Dep. Gov. Dr. Harrigan
Acting Dep. Gov. Dr. Harrigan
The second appointee is Dr. Aidan Harrigan, who has been sworn in as Acting Deputy Governor. His substantive post is Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, Tourism, Commerce and Industry.

Both acting appointments have been occasioned by the absence of Governor Andrew George. A release from Staff Officer, Joe Legg, dated November 14, stated that the Governor, accompanied by his wife, departed the island for his annual leave and to attend a meeting of the Overseas Territories Consultative Council in London during the period November 21 - 22.

Governor George will return to Anguilla on November 28.
