Candle Light Walkers At Webster Park
|
A ring of candle lights, encircling the race track at the Ronald Webster Park, provided an attractive scene for a number of persons associated with the Anguilla Diabetes Association who briskly walked or ran across the playing field on Tuesday night this week.

Association President, Nurse Lynnette Rogers, told The Anguillian: “This fun walk turned out to be very, very beautiful in the sense that many persons were in attendance and the candles around the park are symbols of all those who are supporting us in this challenge against diabetes.”
She said the walkers included persons from the community, some of them, as well as their family members, are diabetic.

“We are creating awareness that you can enjoy and have quality life though you have diabetes. You can exercise without fear of falling down or anything like that, and exercise is very important as part of the management of diabetes,” Nurse Rogers said.
Meanwhile, the Association’s President reported that she and her colleague, Dana Ruan, will be leaving Anguilla on November 29 to attend the Congress of the International Diabetes Federation to be held in Cape Town, South Africa.
