During her years of study she developed rapidly and has exhibited deep appreciation and understanding for the music which she studies. She also enjoys performing and looks forward to this new step in her musical development.
According to Director of Music, Lennox Vanterpool, ten students will be involved in the series which will run until July 2007. All of the events will be solo performances with the exception of two where students have agreed to do a joint recital.
The students involved in this series include clarinetists Ojeda Vanterpool, Krystal Webster and Calyn Harrigan, pianists, Elson Richardson, Kandyce Smith and Chrystal Duncan, saxophonists Krystie Webster and Roxanne Webster and trumpeter Jelani Banks.
Although there will be no fixed admission fee at these recitals, all freewill donations will benefit the St. Augustine’s Youth Music Fund.
The Morlens Music Studio was established in 1989 and offers courses in music appreciation, practical musicianship, piano, woodwinds and brasswinds.
