Anguilla Drenched By Heavy Rain

This time last week, Anguilla, like a number of neighbouring islands, experienced much flash flooding as a trough over the area resulted in heavy showers of rain.

Many low-lying areas of the island quickly became ponds as the deluge poured down. Some sections of road in The Valley, particularly at the Queen Elizabeth Avenue, and at Island Habour, in the vicinity of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, were impassable.

In some cases, vehicles were caught up in the flooding. The water settlements soon receded as the trough drifted away from the area.
