Mr. Lake presenting fans to Acting Principal

Speaking on behalf of the family business, Michelle Lake said the six oscillating fans were to be mounted on the walls. “We find it necessary to try to improve the environment both for the teachers and students. The children have been complaining about how hot it has been, and over the summer Mr. Ruan upgraded his room through the help of the Government,” Lake said at the presentation on Wednesday, October 18.
“I thought it would be an additional gift to help improve the conditions in the classroom by donating these fans,” Lake said. “The aim is to provide comfort for teachers and students alike and make the environment a little bit more conducive to learning.
“I would like to make a strong appeal to the business community to adopt a classroom at the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, Campus A, so that all teachers can have better working conditions and environment. We are asking a lot of our teachers to produce the future leaders of tomorrow.
“For this reason, I think is incumbent upon all businesses, government and the community alike to get behind our teachers and make this environment one in which they can nurture our students and make them feel comfortable and appreciated for the hard work they are doing in helping our students.”
Replying, Acting Principal, Ingrid Lake, thanked Mr. Lake and Anguilla Business Supplies for taking the initiative to donate the fans to the Mathematics Department. “I know the rooms are very hot. He would have experienced it here as a student and I am happy that he took the initiative to provide the fans to make the classrooms more conducive for learning and more comfortable,” she stated.
“As he noted, I hope that other businesses would follow and make donations to the school so that all of us can benefit. We want to have better classrooms, improved environment, high achievement levels and everybody needs to work together in order to achieve that.”
