2006/2007 Winter Season Auction Offers

This season there are some great new accommodation opportunities for visitors to Anguilla – with amazing new properties opening up as well as some ‘make-overs’ on favorite accommodations and the packages offered up on the site reflect this diversity.

Lifestyles of the rich and famous…
On September 25th The biggest auction package ever will go live - a five night stay at the brand new Sheriton Estates Villas. The lot includes accommodation in the seven bedroom villa with private chef and concierge service. The Villa sleeps up to 14, has two pools, numerous sea facing balconies, a stunning location close to beautiful Maundays Bay and the newly opened Greig Norman Golf Course in Anguilla’s famous West End. The rack rate for this package (offered between 1st May and Nov 1st 2007) is over $21,000 and the starting bid price is only $8,000. This beautiful and luxurious retreat would make a great base for a family holiday or even for a group of golfing friends wishing to take advantage of the nearby course. This package also includes a complimentary visiting massage for one guest – from Jill Walker of Taino Wellness Centre.

A short but sweet introduction to paradise…
In October the site will offer a 3 day package for two including continental breakfast at the newly refurbished small hotel – Sirena. This much-loved hotel on Meads Bay is currently being refurbished in a more contemporary boutique style. The rack rate for this package is over $500 but bidding will start at $200. This package would be perfect for those wanting a stress free weekend or a quick refresher/introduction to our beautiful island.

Stylish accommodation on Anguillas coolest beach…
In November we introduce a seven-day package for two at KU in Shoal Bay. Launched last year KU had a very successful first season - this stylish hotel on our most popular beach soon proved to be a huge international hit. This package is advertised at $2,000 but we will start the bidding at $500. If you want the coolness of South Beach combined with the romance and tranquility Shoal Bay East - this is the lot for you.

A tranquil tropical delight…
And in December we will feature a 5 night stay in the beautiful Eden House Villa in Little Harbour. Overlooking St Martin and neighboring islands the Villa is surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens in a tranquil neighborhood. The accommodation comprises a 3 bedroom main house and I bedroom pool house suite and can sleep up to 8 people. Eden House is an art-lovers paradise featuring original art work by owner's son Daryl Thompson, an award winning young artist - some of the work featured can be purchased.

The rack rate for Eden House is around $5,000 and we start the bidding at $2,500. If you want a peaceful home away from home – this is the lot for you…

And finally a beautiful reminder of the seas…
All auction winners this season will also win a copy of "Angelfish with Corals" a signed Lithograph by Artist JoAnne Hook, donated by Melody and John Dill owners of the beautiful Bird of Paradise Villa in Anguilla – which features many original works of art as part of its unique charm.

Trudy Nixon the Executive Director of the AHTA says, “we are so grateful to our members for their ongoing support of the site which is both a great marketing tool and raises much needed funds for the Association and its work in tourism and tourism education. Anguilla Auctions is a very friendly and personalized website and most of our bidders are ‘regulars’ who know and love Anguilla and bid often – we build a relationship with them. Each Auction runs for 2 weeks and we only ever auction one lot at a time. I answer every bid personally – so be aware that it’s not a computer that is dealing with you!!”

Jeannine Connor-Gittens states, “We are delighted to donate this package to the AHTA auction site. We have quite a distinguished property, and it was a clear choice for us to celebrate our launch by collaborating with the AHTA - Anguilla’s most visited website. People get so involved in the bidding process and they can almost feel themselves in Anguilla – 2 weeks hoping to win means a strong desire to visit. And even if they don’t place the winning bid, they will definitely visit the island at some point. We are looking forward to welcoming the winners…”

If you would like to be notified of these lots as they come live please email the AHTA at ahta@anguillanet.com with your email address and you will automatically be added to our list of Anguilla Auction Bidders!!
