John T. Memorial Warm-up Race


The Anguilla Amateur Cycling Association held a “warm up” bicycle race in front of Cable & Wireless on Sunday 18th June. The race followed the John T. route and was completed in 3 hours and 50 minutes.

Ronnie Bryan, who led for the most of the race, finished well ahead of the other riders with an astounding lead of 7 minutes and 50 seconds. The second place rider Danny Laud who was closely followed by Claude Richardson.

Ronnie Bryan was also awarded “King of the Hill” for leading the pack up the Sandy Ground hill on the second and third laps.

The Association will be hosting the Cable & Wireless-sponsored John T. Memorial Race on the 2nd July and it is expected to draw riders from all over the Caribbean and be the biggest ever in the history of Association and Anguilla.

Results of the warm-up race on Sunday 18th June 2006:
1st Place - Ronnie Bryan (Dragon Boys Cycling Club)
2nd Place - Danny Laud (Stingers C C)
3rd Place - Claude Richardson (Link C C)
4th Place - Chris Pradel (Rebels C C)
5th Place - Vinish Narine (Link C C)
6th Place - Royston Richardson (Rebels C C)
