Roberts and Bardouille were returning from an accident scene at Island Harbour when the police jeep in which they were travelling collided with a section of the Magistrate’s Court, just across from Police Headquarters.

Constable Bardouville, a native of the Commonwealth of Dominica, died as a result of the collision and Roberts, a national of St. Vincent, sustained severe injuries. The injured officer was flown to Trinidad, where he received treatment at the West Shore Medical Centre.

He returned to Anguilla on Sunday, June 5, and was met at Wallblake Airport by a number of his colleagues in the force. Among them was Deputy Commissioner, Illidge Richardson, who told The Anguillian that Constable Roberts would remain off duty “for quite sometime” as he recovers from his injuries.

Roberts showed much excitement to be back on the island with his fiancée Amri Neverson, children and colleagues.
