Governor Huckles takes photos overlooking Sandy Ground after boatrace from helicopter

Mr. Webster, who has an ownership interest in the helicopter service, said the fly-over the island was a tribute to the Governor for his contribution to Anguilla and to give him an opportunity to see how the island was developing. It was intended for the Governor, accompanied by his Executive Secretary, Angela Finn-Morgan, to also fly over the boat race at Sandy Ground but the flight was not in time for the event.
Commenting on the flight, the Governor said: “I have flown over Anguilla before, but I have never been able to fly at slow speed and see the development from the air. Some of the development projects are quite spectacular and I was stunned by the number of beautiful houses that have been built by locals and expatriates alike to take advantage of Anguilla’s best views.
He said the flight showed him that there was still a considerable amount of land which is unspoilt, undeveloped and available for Anguillians. “It certainly gave me a new view of Anguilla…and we did wave at people at Sandy Ground at the end of the boat race. When you look at the beaches and the cliffs of Anguilla, it really is a dramatic place and in a way made me feel sorry to go.” he stated.
“I am very grateful to MacLean Webster. It was a very generous offer and it was exactly what I would have liked and I was very pleased to ride in his co-owner of this helicopter service. I wish him every success.
The helicopter was piloted by Mike Huttenlocker, an American residing in St. Maarten.
