A LETTER OF GRATITUDE

After sampling many islands in the Caribbean, my wife and I long ago decided that Anguilla was our favourite and we have been regular visitors for close to twenty years.
During our most recent stay in mid-February, my wife became ill and it was necessary to organize a medevac (medical evacuation) back to our local hospital in New Jersey.

We are particularly grateful to Dr. Hughes and Dr. Hodge at the Hughes Medical Center for their compassion and their high level of professional care. In particular, Dr. Hodge performed above and beyond the call of duty by making numerous calls on her personal cell phone to help arrange the medevac. While awaiting evacuation we also spent a short time at the Princess Alexandra Hospital where we were treated with great kindness and courtesy.

We would also like to express our gratitude to the staff at Malliouhana for their assistance during this difficult experience. Jasmine in particular could not do enough for us. I know she has experience dealing with medical emergencies and the hotel is truly fortunate to have someone so efficient and competent on its staff.
Finally, we are grateful for our long friendship with Glenn Brooks, our taxi driver, whom we met many years ago on our first trip to Anguilla when we stayed at Coccoloba. Glenn has been driving us ever since and we deeply appreciate his loyalty and concern for us.

After all this excitement, we still plan to be back next February and are even hoping to schedule a brief visit in May! For us Anguilla will always be a special place.
