Fishing Bout In Island Harbour
|
Charter boat captain and fishing ace, Patrick Webste, had a good day angling around Sombrero last week. The sea was calm and the competitive spirit afire among several Island Harbour fishermen on three different boats plying deep water and trolling for the big fish.

At early morning, each fisherman was certain as to who would be getting blows at the end of the day. Blows are a local expression explaining who would lose or otherwise forfeit bragging right for the day. “Beat us again...” - one fisherman was overheard saying as the crowd of Island Harbour dock spectators gawked and admired Webster’s catch.
In the vernacular of Island Harbour, blows were given and taken appropriately as the competitors await another calm day.
The Webster catch was two large and two smaller Wahoo’s and a Dolphin (45, 42, 24, 16 and 20 pounds respectfully) or 147 pounds of extraordinary Anguilla fresh fish dining.
