Anita Ruan and Wilma Vanterpool with students
|
For the past twelve years, Mrs. Wilma Vanterpool has been working with the Physical and Social Education (PSE) classes, coordinated by Mrs. Anita Martin-Ruan, Guidance Counsellor, of the ALHCS, to sensitise school leavers to the importance of the contribution of youth to the economic, social and cultural development of Anguilla.
Mrs. Vanterpool states that it is SEDU’s intention to focus on the training and development of the youth by providing an in-depth knowledge of small business development skills.
After completion of the learning activities and exercises, the students will be able to:
• Define the role of an entrepreneur
• Identify the qualities of an entrepreneur
• Understand the formation of a business plan
• Prepare simple accounting records
• Conduct market research
It is SEDU’s goal to keep the youth of Anguilla informed of the contributive roles they could play in the development of the country through their involvement in micro-enterprises development.
