The service was conducted by Superintendent of the Methodist Circuit, Reverend Lindsay Richardson. He praised Mrs. Pemberton for her fine example, quality of life and parental role in the community and the steadfastness of her Christian faith.

A souvenir booklet prepared for the occasion, and featuring Mrs. Pemperton’s family life, described her as “an ordinary woman whose endurance has been great and achievement incredible, thus making her an extraordinary woman.”

The service was followed by a reception and dinner at Dorack’s Place, Katouche Bay.
