Schools End Numeracy Month


The primary schools in Anguilla have ended their observance of Numeracy Month – October - with various programmes.

Two schools at which The Anguillian was represented were the Stoney Ground Primary School and the Morris Vanterpool School at East End. At Stoney Ground School, the teachers reported that during the month parents donated mathematical resources to the school. There were estimation games, math quizzes, number rhymes and math games, creation of math problems; and writing math stores.

The children competed against each other within their grade levels. It was highly competitive and they participated with much enthusiasm.

At the Morris Vanterpool School, there were also various numeracy activities and competitions. The overall winners were The Turtle Doves with 357 points, The Sparrows with 322 points and The Humming Birds with 321 points.
