The programme, organised by officers Christine Brooks and Kiesha Gumbs-Bryan, is aimed at providing participants with an enriching learning experience, thus contributing to their overall development. The programme also presents an opportunity for clubs and businesses to exercise their social responsibility to the Anguillian community. It is an opportunity to engage youth in productive activities during the long summer vacation.

The children will participate in such activities as sewing, swimming, tours, tennis and other sports, first aid and CPR instruction, health education sessions, video sessions, free talk, drumming and dance. They will also be taken on a drip to Dolphin Fantasies, now under new management.

In previous years the Social Development Department summer programme was a collaborative effort with the Royal Anguilla Police Force. Former Police Officer, Sonia Skellekie, and other officers along with members of Soroptimist International spearheaded the programme.
