Caribbean Commercial Bank (CCB) Anguilla Limited believes in the development of its staff and thus has a very robust and comprehensive training policy. Over the next few months, the Ministry of Social Development of the Government of Anguilla, will seek to develop a National Plan of Action for the improved care and protection of children, focusing in particular on child abuse.

Patients in Anguilla needing emergency treatment abroad now have no need to worry. An agreement has been formalised whereby they can get assistance at four specialised hospitals in Puerto Rico. The Health Authority of Anguilla has already made a financial deposit there for the service and the first patient has since been sent for treatment.

The people of Anguilla have been given an outline of the Government’s major economic development objectives for the period 2005 - 2010.

A French restaurant operator, who is planning to do business in Anguilla shortly, threw a Christmas party for a number of school children.

A quantity of studio equipment, installed to improve the quality of the broadcasts of Radio Anguilla, was officially commissioned at the station on Tuesday, December 20.
The on-pair broadcast studio, production mixer, complete with consoles, supporting woodwork, racks, cabling and monitoring sources, were donated by GCap Media in the United Kingdom.

One of the activities of the Valley Community Christmas Tree Lighting Programme was the re-enactment of a traditional wedding ceremony in Anguilla.

A number of community-minded persons got together in a unique way to raise funds for the Anguilla Animal Rescue Foundation (AARF) by singing Christmas carols at various restaurants.

Hundreds of children from throughout the island converged on the Parking Lot of the National Bank of Anguilla for the 17th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Gift Give Away function on Monday, December 19. The late evening event was threatened by rain which eventually cleared up allowing for an enjoyable time for everyone.

The Women’s League of the Immanuel Methodist Church in West End/Long Bay area hosted a Christmas luncheon for the senior citizens there on Monday, December 19.

The Christmas Party hosted by His Excellency the Governor Alan Huckle and Mrs Huckle on December 16 was a great success and enjoyed by all. It took place in the gardens of Government House and included a lively presentation from the St Augustine Chorale. Guests were invited to bring gifts for less fortunate children in the community and more than 200 gifts were received.

The National Bank of Anguilla donated various gifts to underprivileged children who were not in a position to attend the Bank’s 17th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Give Away ceremony on December 19.

A large number of children were recipients of gifts on Monday, December 19 at the ‘trough’ where the Valley Christmas Tree Lighting Committee is holding a series of cultural activities.

In mid-October, the Anguilla National Trust launched an essay and poster competition that focussed on multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs) and the benefits they may provide to Anguilla through their extension and adoption at the national level.

A sixth-time repeat visitor to Anguilla, David Small, his wife Robin and their five sons, made a significant contribution to social life on the island by donating some very much appreciative gifts to a number of children and groups.

The Model Boot Camp Team hosted a Pre-Christmas Fun Day on 20 December for all children on Anguilla. The event took place on the grounds of the Public Library in The Valley.
