Major Drug Find In Anguilla

Officers from Royal Anguilla Police Service CID, Criminal Intelligence Dept and Drugs and Guns Taskforce undertook a large scale joint search operation, with colleagues from Anguilla Customs Department, on Tuesday afternoon at Road Bay Port. They were joined by a number officers from the British Virgin Islands Customs, including their drugs dog team, which was flown in to provide extra staff to assist with the search.

The Royal Anguilla Police Force has reported that further operations involving the Drugs & Firearms Task Force and CID, assisted by the Dutch St. Maarten Police Helicopter, had resulted in the discovery of a quantity of cannabis. Later, the police also seized a firearm and ammunition.

Boys' Brigade Regional Camp In Anguilla

The 2006 Boys’ Brigade Eastern and Southern Regional Camp began in Anguilla over the weekend with two parades and a formal opening ceremony. The camp attracted some fifty participants from Tobago, St. Kitts, Antigua, St. Martin/St. Maarten and Anguilla. It commenced shortly after the Regional Fellowship Meeting held at Masara Resort at Katouche.

ANGUILLA GETS ACCREDITATION MONEY Interim Assessment This Week

A Letter of Agreement has been signed between the Health Authority of Anguilla and the Pan American Health Organisation involving a grant of ten thousand US dollars. PAHO’s Regional Adviser for Hospital Administration, David Taylor, said the money was mainly to support the activities of the Authority relating to the accreditation of the health services from now to December when the process will be completed.
