The club held its 3rd Annual Fund-Raiser Gospel Concert on 26 November, 2011 at the St. Augustine's Anglican Church.

The Anguilla Community College is to hold a week of activities from Sunday, March 25, to Saturday 31, under the theme “Education for Nation Building”. The highlight of the events will be the formal installation of the first President of the institution, Dr. Delroy M. Louden. He will be installed at a ceremony at St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, East End, on Friday, March 30, commencing at 4 p.m.

ALHCS Science fair shows ingenuity alive at the ALHCS

Ingenuity and analytical thinking were some of the many features on display at the annual Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School Science fair. This event which has been sponsored by National Commercial Data Services (NCDS) culminated with its awards on Friday Nov 25th. A total of 61 projects were judged with some 134 students (83 girls and 51 boys) participating. |

At the 6th Annual Certificate Presentation Ceremony on November 30, 101 students received certificates for various studies that they have completed during the year. Courses included Accounting, Supervisory Management, Event Planning and Management and Marketing that were in conjunction with the Barbados Community College. |

The topic was; The children in your class have started to tease and discriminate against Susan because they found out that her older sister has HIV. CXC OFFICIALS DISCUSS NEW PRIMARY SCHOOL EXAM

Arrangements are continuing among education officials from the Caribbean Examinations Council, Anguilla and other member territories, for the introduction of a new exam in grade six of the Primary Schools in the sub-region.
It is called the Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA)exam which will be held for students about to enter secondary schools.

It was funded by Education International and locally coordinated by the Anguilla Teachers’ Union, under the leadership of President Emma Ferguson.

The Literacy Development Project in Anguilla took on a new dimension on Tuesday this week with the launching of the “Just Write Big Book” which is now making its rounds at all the schools in the various communities on the island. The launching ceremony was held at the Public Library at which were top officials in the Ministry and Department of Education and teachers and students from the public and private schools.

139 ALHCS Students Graduate

There was standing room only at the Rodney MacArthur Rey Auditorium, where a record attendance of several hundred persons witnessed the graduation of 139 (out of 2011 Year Five) students from the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School on Wednesday, October 19. Some 60 of the graduates are continuing their education in Sixth Form, while the majority will seek employment in the dwindling job market.
