The Learning Centre at Campus A of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School is the recipient of a supply of educational and sports materials.
The donation, from the Anguilla Community Foundation and a friend of the Learning Centre, was presented to the centre by Seymour Hodge, a well known Anguillian voluntary worker.

Third Primary Schools Awards Ceremony: 90 Awardees, 152 Awards

The Third Annual Primary Schools Award Ceremony at the Rodney MacArthur Rey Auditorium on Thursday, November 19, saw a large number of students receiving presentations for outstanding performance in a number of subject areas as well as sports. The overall sponsor was the Anguilla Electricity Company (ANGLEC).
The awardees, some of whom are now students at the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, were from the six Government Primary Schools and the privately run Central Christian School and the Teacher Gloria Omolulu Institute. |

ALHCS Science Fair Successful Undertaking

The 2009 Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School’s Science Fair turned out to be a great success with a number of subject matters having been well-thought out and showcased by the participating students assisted by their teachers.
The award-winning event was sponsored overall by National Commercial Data Services (NCDS), a joint project owned by Caribbean Commercial Bank and National Bank of Anguilla which also provides services to other institutions in the region.

The 4th Annual Health Authority of Anguilla-sponsored Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive Health Quiz, was held on Wednesday, September 30, at the Rodney McArthur Rey Auditorium.
The inter-house quiz is an initiative by the Health Authority, through the Health Promotion and Nutrition Unit, to prevent and reduce the incidence of chronic diseases among students at the school. |

A term-long Design and Technology project culminated on Thursday June 18 in a grand finish when Year 2 students of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School participated in the 2009 Design Challenge. Students spent the term designing and making cars that would have as its main source of power: rat traps.

Four young persons from Anguilla are currently attending the 32nd World Affairs being held from June 20-26 at Carrol University in Wisconsin. The attendance was initiated by the Rotary Club of Anguilla that co-sponsored two of the students along with the Rotary Club of New York and the Anguilla Social Security Board. The other two are being sponsored by several businesses in Anguilla.

Campus B is functioning well as a breeding ground for competitive debates by Campus A students at the level of the Leeward Islands Debating Competition. The practice sessions, under the direction of Language Teacher, dramatist and public speaker, Colin Johnson, have been going on for sometime and reached a stage late last week when the debate for that day was broadcast live on Radio Anguilla.
