On Friday evening (18th March),the ANGLEC Shockers electrocuted Sports and left everyone at courtside in awe with a score of 20, 25; 25, 20 and 15, 8. Sports, the double defending Champions, were severely castigated by their calculating opponents with good passes and precise blocking. Consequently they were bumped to the third seed of the playoffs.

Approximately 3,000 athletes from over 200 teams competed at the 35th staging of the Gibson Relays in Jamaica, on the new track inside the National Stadium on March 12. Although the shifting of the date from February 26 to March 12 has affected the participation of teams from overseas, Bermuda, Martinique and Birmingham, London, still made the Gibson Relays a sure stop on their calendar for the season.

His Excellency the Governor, Alistair Harrison, along with Dawn Wright presents Trophy to Mariann Veneziano.
 

The inaugural Tom Wright Memorial Women's Championship Golf Tournament was held on 19th February 2011 at the Temenos Golf Course. Tom Wright, who passed away on the 10th December 2010, was a steadfast supporter of Women's Golf in Anguilla.

The Peter Johnstone Claret Cup 2011 Golf Championship medal play event was held at the Temenos Golf Course on 19th February 2011. This is the Anguilla Golf Association's premier event in the 2011 tournament calendar. A total of 33 golfers participated in the event with three-time winner Theron Loizos topping the field with a low gross score of 79 to become this year's champion and fourth time winner of the Cup.

Traditional volleyball powers Morris Vanterpool and Orealia Kelly Primary Schools showcased their muscle as they went undefeated in the female and male categories respectively. The Alwyn Allison and the Adrian T Hazell Primary Schools also showed continued improvements by coming second in the male and female categories respectively.

Competitors from four island nations met in Anguilla on Saturday for the Anguilla Dinghy Regatta 2011, an annual event of growing importance and prestige on the Caribbean youth sailing calendar. The four countries were Puerto Rico, St. Barthelemy, St. Maarten and Anguilla. The Regatta was organized by the Anguilla Youth Sailing Club (AYSA), headquartered at Sandy Ground, Anguilla.

2010 Sol St. Maarten Opti Championship

On Saturday November 6th, three young sailors from The Anguilla Youth Sailing Club competed in the 6th Annual Sol St. Maarten Optimist Championship hosted by the St. Maarten Yacht Club. The regatta, held in Simpson Bay Lagoon, saw seventeen competitors, aged 8 to 14, compete in 9 races. The races were sailed in a one fleet format which was subdivided into two classes: Gold Class included sailors aged 12 years and older, and the Silver Class in which competitors were 11 years and younger.

The Anguilla National football team with Coach, Scott Cooper, before they departed from Clayton Lloyd International Airport yesterday ahead of the first group matches of the Digicel Caribbean Cup 2010 which kick off tomorrow in Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium, Puerto Rico.
 

Digicel, proud sponsors of Caribbean Football, yesterday bid farewell to the teams from Anguilla and the Cayman Islands ahead of the Group A games against St. Martin and hosts Puerto Rico which kick off tomorrow.
The Anguilla National team – who departed from Clayton Lloyd International Airport yesterday – was accompanied by Coach, Scott Cooper, who was flown in from England to assist with the training and selection of the team.
